Formula for the computation of the midterm exam grade:

Raw Score
 _________________    X  Base Score  +  (100  –  Base Score)  = Percentage
Total Number of points

  • Raw Score - the score you got, your actual score.

  • Total no. of points - total number of items in the exam = 50 pts.

  • Base score - the passing percentage = 40%. You should get a score 40% of the total number of items just to get a passing grade.

  • Percentage - the percentage equivalent of your raw score

Example: Raw score = 36 pts
21/50 = 0.72 X 40 = 28.8 +  60 = 88.8%
